Euro giants want Everton star and signing Liverpool ace is one of their 'great dreams' - report

Barcelona are looking to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana and Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz this summer, according to AS.

The Spanish newspaper reported in its print edition on 7 June, Page 10, that Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is also on the Catalan side’s radar.

Barcelona missed out on La Liga this season and under Hansi Flick will have ambitions of fighting for the Champions League and regaining the league title.

Luis Diaz and Amadou Onana being teammates will be weird amid the Liverpool and Everton rivalry

It would be quite unusual for Diaz and Onana to become teammates at Barcelona, given their current roles as key players for Liverpool and the Toffees respectively, two clubs with a fierce local rivalry.

Diaz has been a standout performer for Liverpool since his arrival in 2022, while Onana has also been a vital figure in the Toffees’ midfield since joining a few months later.

Both players have experienced the intensity of the Merseyside derby firsthand, which adds an extra layer of intrigue to the potential partnership at Barcelona.

However, the Belgian is one of the big-money assets at Goodison Park that they may need to sell to be on the right side of the PSR rules.

It remains to be seen what Sean Dyche’s stance is on the 22-year-old who’s been a regular in midfield for him.

Should Onana be sold, the Toffees will need to sign a quality midfielder as the options they have aren’t good enough if they are to improve their performances next season.
