Everton expected to bid for new attacker in days - Fabrizio Romano

Everton are expected to make a bid for Napoli attacker Jesper Lindstrom in days, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his Playback TV stream (13 July), the reliable journalist reports that the Toffees are interested in the 24-year-old Denmark international after missing out on Jaden Philogene to Aston Villa.

The club have opened talks with Napoli already over a deal for the winger, and Romano now expects a formal bid to be made in the coming days.

“Everton have an interest in Lindstrom,” he confirmed.

“I think they will bid for Lindstrom in the next days. Let’s see how much and see what happens.”

Everton move quickly for Jesper Lindstrom transfer

The transfer window so far at Goodison Park has been really positive from a fan’s perspective, with three arrivals and no major sales as things stand.

Tim Iroegbunam, Jack Harrison and Iliman Ndiaye have all arrived while Lewis Dobbin and Ben Godfrey have moved on, with Amadou Onana close to a move to Aston Villa for around £50m.

That means financially the club are in a good place now, and the hope was that adding Philogene to the squad would boost them further after losing Arnaut Danjuma.

However, Villa exercised their right to match any bids and convinced Philogene to return there which has left the Toffees chasing alternatives now.

Lindstrom would be an exciting target to come in with Champions League experience and added versatility, so it will be interesting to see how it develops in the coming days.
