Everton make £6.8m bid plus two bonuses for another new transfer - report

Everton submitted a £6.8million offer plus two bonuses to Hellas Verona for Jackson Tchatchoua, according to Corriere Di Verona.

The Italian newspaper reported [3 August, page 13] that the Serie A side are holding out for at least £8.5million upfront, with the player’s contract running until 2027.

It is understood that Verona will stand firm on their demands for the 22-year-old right-back, with several clubs interested in his signature this summer.

Everton move towards Jackson Tchatchoua transfer

With Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Ashley Young as the options at right-back currently, Sean Dyche looks to be targeting a new transfer in the position.

Full-back on both flanks was often a problem position for the Toffees last season, with Mason Holgate utilised on occasion due to the circumstances at Goodison Park.

Tchatchoua looks to be an ideal signing this summer, with the 22-year-old impressing during his time in Serie A with Verona, and even earning a chance with Cameroon at international level.

He has won two caps for his national team so far, earning a call-up to the squad in May before being thrown straight into the starting starting XI.

Given the Toffees’ current issues at right-back, with both Coleman and Young coming to the ends of their career, below £10million for a young, exciting full-back is a decent option this summer.

Many fans were concerned by the club’s financial situation after Dan Friedkin’s takeover attempt collapsed earlier this summer, but Dyche and Kevin Thelwell’s transfer plans have continued without a hitch.

While several players have been linked with moves away, the signings of Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, Jesper Lindstrom and Jake O’Brien have added a lot of positivity at Goodison Park.

Tchatchoua could be the next big thing for the Toffees this summer.
