Everton want to sign forward who could be sold due to FFP reasons - Fabrizio Romano

Everton are interested in signing Newcastle youngster Yankuba Minteh with the Magpies possibly having to let him go due to FFP reasons, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In his Daily Briefing on June 23, Romano added that Newcastle’s pursuit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also “concrete”, but Everton’s interest in Minteh would be a separate deal.

And, due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, Newcastle might consider letting Minteh go if a good proposal comes in.

However, with four or five clubs keen on Minteh, Everton face competition for the promising talent.

Are Everton and Minteh a good fit?

Minteh might just prove to be an excellent fit for Everton, with the addition of youthful pace, creativity and versatility.

The 19-year-old Gambian winger has already shown his potential with an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord, where his performances were exciting to watch.

Minteh could add some much-needed creativity and dynamism in attack, taking over some responsibility for scoring goals, in case Calvert-Lewin departs Goodison Park.

Minteh’s versatility to play on either wing will offer Sean Dyche tactical flexibility, varying the attack.

His young age also helps with the fact that Everton are building a squad for the future, and he could turn out to be an important player as they plot their way up the Premier League table.

Minteh’s hunger to test himself in the top flight of English football could also be that added spur he needs, and the desire to do so would therefore drive him to great performances consistently, which would then make him a vital addition to the Toffees’ roster.
