'Everything is alright': Tottenham player confirms he is fit again after pre-season injury scare

Tottenham fans can breathe a sigh of relief it seems after one of their key players appeared to play down talk of injury.

With pre-season now well underway and the games coming thick and fast for players, Tottenham are among the clubs hoping to get to the opening day with no injury issues.

For Ange Postecoglou, getting to the opening day of the season with a clean bill of health will be hugely important to him.

So far, in the main anyway, it’s good news. The likes of Heung-Min Son and James Maddison are fit and well, while Rodrigo Bentancur has shown no ill signs either.

However, there was a scare just a few weeks back when new midfield sensation, Lucas Bergvall, suffered what looked like a painful injury in the friendly with QPR.

But speaking on the injury himself, Bergvall has delivered what is good, positive news for Tottenham fans.

Bergvall was speaking to the We Are Tottenham TV channel on YouTube when he was asked about his injury.

And thankfully for Tottenham fans, it looks like Bergvall is doing just fine, and could even be in line to play against Munich this weekend.

“Everything is alright. It was just to be sure, it was a little bit with my bone here, but it was nothing. It was just to be sure that it was nothing,” Bergvall said.

The Swedish youngster has already been making an impression in pre-season.

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou has even commented on how good Bergvall is looking at set-pieces, which could be another weapon for Spurs to turn to this coming season.

Bergvall is not explicitly a new signing for Spurs given a deal was already in place but his performances in pre-season have very much felt like a new addition trying to make an impression.

Along with fellow teen Archie Gray, Bergvall could be in for a big season with Spurs.
