Exclusive: Everton's new owners make secret Sean Dyche sack plan

Everton’s new owners plan to sack Sean Dyche as they don’t think he’s the right manager to lead them out at the new stadium, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders announced last week (September 24) that an agreement over the terms of the sale of Farhad Moshiri’s 94% stake has been reached with The Friedkin Group.

Keith Wyness, who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009, revealed to Football Insider that the deal could be completed as early as mid-November.

Dyche’s position has been up in the air notwithstanding the takeover negotiations following a dismal start to the season before Everton secured their first win in six Premier League matches last weekend.

Dan Friedkin, 59, who also owns Italian side Roma, is believed to have told his inner circle that he does not regard Dyche as a viable long-term manager of the club.

The former Burnley boss is out of contract at the end of the season and sources at Everton do not expect his deal to be extended.

After successfully leading the club to Premier League safety last season, Dyche and Everton now face the very real threat of sinking into the Championship for the first time in their history.

With the club set to move into their new 52,888 seater stadium on Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock next year, relegation could prove disastrous on and off the pitch.

Saturday’s (September 28) win over fellow strugglers Crystal Palace has given the club somewhat of a reprieve, taking them from last into 16th.

They next face a Newcastle side fresh off the back of an impressive 1-1 draw with current champions Man City on Saturday (October 5).
