Manchester United could earn more than £32million in increased revenue by tapping into opportunities in the US market, sources have told Football Insider.

The CLV Group exclusively revealed its latest US fandom report to Football Insider, showing Man United stand to gain the most from Premier League clubs looking to monetise the American market moving forward.

There is estimated to be up to £860million on offer to European clubs in additional revenue ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Interest in the Premier League has soared in recent years as the most-watched league in the world continues to increase its global appeal.

The Premier League’s current broadcasting deal with NBC in America is worth a reported £2billion, which is around 20 per cent of the league’s entire broadcast revenue.

Man United are one of nine top-flight clubs set to tour the US this summer, with an estimated 36.5 million American football fans believed to be undecided about which European team they want to support.

That means Premier League sides heading to the US in the coming weeks have the opportunity to increase their following by three to five times over the next year, opening them up to more revenue streams.

Man United could exploit US market to increase revenue

Football Insider has been told Man United could earn up to £32.2million in extra revenue from the US market due to their long-standing global fanbases and significant commercial appeal.

While that is lower than Real Madrid at £48.1million and PSG at £44.6million, the figure is higher than Barcelona’s £29.6million and all of their fellow Premier League sides.

It comes at a time when the finances – and expenditure – of English clubs are being heavily scrutinised by the governing body and new revenue streams are becoming more desirable.

Man United’s revenue rose by 11 per cent in 2022-23 to £648million from £583million the previous year.

Football Insider previously revealed the Premier League giants are hoping to generate £20million in revenue from their pre-season tour in the US this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side will face Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool in Los Angeles, San Diego and South Carolina.

In other news, Man United plan to accept “huge” offer for star man.
