Exclusive: Norwich respond to Leeds' Jonathan Rowe bid

Leeds United are “nowhere near” Norwich City’s valuation of Jonathan Rowe with their first bid, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Whites have submitted a verbal bid of £7million for the 21-year-old which is yet to be formalised.

In any case, Norwich have knocked back that offer – which is not close to the Canaries’ valuation of Rowe.

Leeds are on the hunt for a new winger after losing Crysencio Summerville to West Ham over the weekend.

Daniel Farke’s side currently don’t have a natural left-sided winger on the books at Elland Road.

Rowe fits the bill for the Yorkshire giants after his stunning breakthrough season in the 2023-24 campaign.

He hit 13 goals and four assists across 38 appearances in all competitions last term as Norwich finished sixth in the Championship.

The winger’s contract at Carrow Road is set to run until June 2025 – with the club holding the option to extend a further 12 months.

Rowe missed a huge portion of the second half of the season with a hamstring injury before returning to the Norwich starting lineup as Leeds demolished them 4-0 on aggregate in the play-off semi-final.

However, Farke’s side were unable to overcome Southampton at Wembley and will spend another season in the second tier.

Leeds have wrapped up deals for Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, Alex Cairns and Joe Rothwell so far this summer.
