Four Lads shares if any new transfers are imminent at Rangers

Rangers are not expecting any transfer business to be done imminently but remain active in the market, according to Four Lads.

Writing on their personal X account (11 July), they report that the Light Blues still have several targets in the transfer market as Philippe Clement looks to bolster his squad for the 2024/25 campaign.

Movement is expected both in and out of Ibrox before the window closes next month, and while nothing is considered to be “imminent” at the moment more business is expected to be done in the coming weeks.

Rangers have lots of work to do in the transfer market

So far Clement has brought in six players, and six players have left the club after last season, which means you can argue the squad isn’t any stronger.

Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Oscar Cortes, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly and Hamza Igamane have replaced John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Jon McLaughlin, Kemar Roofe and Robby McCrorie, while there are still question marks over several players.

But the pre-season clash with Standard Liege which ended 0-0 saw two different lineups for each half of the game, and neither looked particularly convincing that it would be able to compete with Celtic.

With pre-season already underway, waiting a few more weeks to bring in the fresh faces that are needed is not ideal and there’s no doubt the manager won’t be best pleased.

But ultimately, the most important thing is getting them in before the season starts to make sure the squad isn’t left short and doesn’t start slowly.
