Gabby Agbonlahor shares two-word verdict on Rangers v Lyon live on talkSPORT

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Rangers v Lyon will be a tough game for Philippe Clement’s men.

The Gers got off to a stellar start in their Europa League opener and managed to beat Swedish side Malmo 2-0 away from home.

There’s no doubt that the Gers will want to capitalise on the momentum gained from their recent run of form and add another three points to their tally on 3 October.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (3 October, 08:27am), Agbonlahor shared his two-word verdict on the tie,

“Tough game,” he said.

Rangers could win Lyon in Europa League

The Gers have been in good form throughout their last few games.

The squad seems to have come into their own with Clement’s new arrivals now becoming fully integrated within the setup.

The likes of Tom Lawrence and Cyriel Dessers will be the players that Clement will likely look towards to try and get a result out of the game against the Ligue 1 outfit.

In fact, Dessers himself admitted that the game against Lyon would be a “good test” for Rangers and would allow them to see how strong they actually are in terms of competing with bigger teams.

Obviously, with Lyon playing in Ligue 1 there’s a massive gulf in the financial capabilities of both clubs with Clement even claiming that the two squads are in “different worlds” from one another.

So, if the Gers do manage to pull off a result and manage to get just one point, they’ll have done themselves justice and shown that they mean business this term.
