Ibrox Exclusive: O'Rourke drops huge Philippe Clement update tonight

Philippe Clement is just one game away from being sacked as Rangers boss, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 50-year-old is currently “under huge pressure” at Ibrox and his job is now on the line.

The Light Blues failed to qualify for the Champions League and currently sit nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have already suffered three defeats in the league from the opening 11 games and they are just two points above the cut-off in the Europa League table.

With the pressure mounting, Clement is now only one poor result away from being sacked as the Rangers hierarchy looks to salvage the season.

The Scottish giants will be back in action on Saturday (23 November) as they host Dundee United, who currently sit just three points behind them in the league.

Philippe Clement could move on from Rangers to take the Belgium post

Even though Clement is under pressure at Rangers, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that he has huge admirers within the Belgium FA.

The national team are considering a change of manager with Dominique Tedesco on the brink of losing his job, which could lead to an opening for Clement.

The Rangers boss is a former Belgium international, but him taking on the role could be an ideal situation for the Scottish giants.

Should Clement opt to leave Ibrox to become Belgium manager then they wouldn’t need to pay him any compensation which would aid their current financial woes.

The club’s latest annual report revealed that Rangers are operating at a worrying £17.2million loss, which has restricted them in the transfer market.
