Ibrox View: John Bennett still clearly clueless on Rangers saga after new update

Although many changes were expected at Rangers this summer, it’s unlikely that anyone expected that a temporary change of stadium would be on the cards.

Despite the positive changes around the club so far, fans will likely not be looking forward to the start of the new season due to the disregard that has been shown to them throughout the entirety of the Ibrox saga.

Work on the Copland Road Stand has been delayed and will mean that Rangers will be forced to play games away from Ibrox for August, at least [Chris Jack].

John Bennett has now finally spoken on the topic and it feels to have confused the overall situation more and not shed light on any pressing questions that fans may have.

What has John Bennett said to Rangers fans about the Ibrox situation

In his latest update to supporters on 11 July, the chairman confirmed that the club was finally getting to the closing stages of an agreement to rent Hampden Park.

Despite this, within his statement, he failed to state when Ibrox would be ready for the team again.

He wrote: “We are closing in on the most immediate solution – a suitable venue at which to fulfil our fixtures and house our support.

“While the ongoing delay means that the club is unable to fix a date for our return to Ibrox, we anticipate that this will become clearer upon delivery of the necessary materials to Glasgow.”

With suggestions that Rangers may be locked out of Ibrox for longer than just August, this latest update will do nothing to restore hope that isn’t the case [Scottish Sun].

It is clear that Bennett is still clueless about the whole situation and given everything that has happened with James Bisgrove also leaving, it looks as though his hands are too full.

Some positive news is needed soon, the club is starting to look very foolish.
