Ibrox View: Rangers shown what they are missing as footage emerges from England

Scott Wright has shown Rangers what they are missing after scoring two and assisting one for Birmingham City in the EFL Trophy.

The Blues secured a 4-0 win on Tuesday 8 October against Shrewsbury Town with the former Light Blues ace being at the centre of everything on the night.

The League One outfit shared footage of the 27-year-old via X on 9 October showing his impact against the Shrews.

Wright bagged a brace before half time while also picking up an assist for former Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata.

With the Englishman showing off his impact in front of goal, the Gers could regret letting him leave Ibrox in the summer.

The former Aberdeen star had been linked with a move away from Philippe Clement’s side for the whole window before finally joining the Blues.

The likes of Sheffield Wednesday [Daily Record] and Preston North End [Football Scotland] had shown an interest in securing his signature in recent times.

Despite this, it was Birmingham who signed Wright and he has had some positive moments at St Andrew’s since joining the recently relegated side.

His goal against Wigan Athletic sparked wild scenes in the stands while his showing against Shrewsbury has seen fans stand up and take notice of the winger.

Rangers could do with someone like the 27-year-old in their squad right now who can make a positive impact, mainly off the bench.

Despite scoring two against St Johnstone, Vaclav Cerny has had a tough time at Ibrox so far and could do with a more like-for-like replacement.

Wright has shown what could have been under Clement but at the time it felt like a move away made sense for all parties.
