Jack Grealish sends three-word message to Aston Villa star, fans will love this

Jack Grealish has taken to social media to congratulate Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers on his England debut.

Rogers, 22, replaced Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon in the 66th minute to earn his first cap as England played out a comfortable UEFA Nations League win over Greece on Thursday (November 14).

Man City star Grealish, 29, was forced to withdraw from Lee Carsley’s final squad as interim manager after picking up an injury ahead of his club’s 5-0 Champions League win over Sparta Prague earlier in the season.

The winger hasn’t featured in the last five games for Pep Guardiola’s side, four of which have been defeats as they endure their worst run since the Spaniard took over in 2016.

Rogers was one of five players called up as emergency replacements for the nine players, including Grealish, who decided to return to their clubs.

So far this season, Rogers has managed to fill the void left by Grealish when he departed Villa for a then British-record fee of £100million.

With three goals and three assists in 15 games across all competitions so far this season at club level for Rogers, Grealish took to Instagram to congratulate him on a well-deserved debut with a message that fans will love.

Villa and City are in the same boat at the moment, with Unai Emery’s side having lost four consecutive games across all competitions, they’re in ninth and in danger of slipping away in the race for Champions League qualification.

It’s not quite as dire for City, however, who remain in second, five points behind Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.
