Manchester United will make a third bid for Jarrad Branthwaite if they believe Everton will drop their £70million valuation, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on Monday (15 July) that the Red Devils remain interested in signing the 22-year-old, despite already having two bids rejected by the Toffees this summer.

Sean Dyche’s side do not have to sell the England international and are expected to stand by their valuation, but should United hear that the asking price could be negotiable, they will return with a new offer.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Sheth said: “Another option is still Jarrad Branthwaite, despite Everton’s reluctance to sell. They don’t even need to sell at the moment we understand.

“So they are going to stick by a high valuation which we believe to be £70million-plus. Manchester United will probably go in for a third time if they are getting noises that Everton are willing to negotiate on that valuation.

“Their last bid of course was £45million, plus £5million in add-ons. A total package worth £50million which was rejected out of hand by Everton.”

Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United in the summer transfer window?

As Sheth said, with Amadou Onana closing in on a move to Aston Villa, Everton now no longer need to sell Branthwaite this summer to balance the books and avoid any further PSR breaches.

That means the ball is entirely in the Toffees’ court when it comes to negotiating with United. They don’t need to sell and that means that they can stand by their valuation without worrying about pricing the Red Devils out of a deal.

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been linked with an exit.

It would be a surprise to see the Blues drop their valuation at this stage of the window as that would have likely happened sooner if they had any intention of doing so, but things can change very quickly in the transfer window.

Hopefully, United won’t hear any noises out of Goodison Park in the coming weeks and will walk away from this deal. It would be a nice summer boost for Dyche and the supporters if they could keep hold of Branthwaite.
