Keith Wyness: Wolves to land £60m injection amid record-breaking reveal

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has revealed that Wolves are set to be injected with cash after Fosun International secured a whopping £677million loan.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed the Midlands club will not see the majority of the money that Fosun are gaining.

Wolves have had a lack of investment recently, and the club didn’t replace Pedro Neto or Max Kilman during the summer transfer window.

Gary O’Neil’s team have struggled so far this season as they currently sit bottom of the league after failing to win any of their opening seven Premier League fixtures.

Football Insider revealed that the Wolves manager is looking at Paul Dummett and James Tomkins as potential free-agent signings.

However, O’Neil might be given a cash injection of up to £60million in January to try and bolster the squad to improve results.

Wolves will have to fight relegation without much financial investment

Wyness told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast: “The loan is for Fosun and apparently it’s come from 25 different banks in China.

“That’s probably the biggest private loan, as I understand it, ever seen in China.

“The vast majority of that is going to go into their property deals which for Fosun is their main business.

“Wolves may see some of the money, but not much.

“They’re going to try and battle it out to stay in the Premier League without too many resources.

“They’ve got a big question of the manager coming up with Gary O’Neil, so that’s another issue they’ve got to look at.

“They’ve had a bad start and they know that they’re in the danger zone already, but I don’t think Fosun has got that sort of money to bail them out, that’s for sure.

“I’d be surprised if anything more than £50-60million comes Wolves’ way.
