'Levy just needs to get rid' - Wenham wants Tottenham cut-price sale for £100k/w+ player ASAP

John Wenham has urged Tottenham to offload midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the sale of the 28-year-old should be a top priority in North London.

Lo Celso has played 108 times for Tottenham since joining the club from Real Betis in 2019.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims Daniel Levy must do whatever it takes to move the Argentina international on.

“The whole situation with Lo Celso is incredibly frustrating, Levy just needs to get rid of him,” Wenham said.

“A club in Spain could literally sign him for £10million and I am sure he would do very well over there. He just isn’t suited to the Premier League or Tottenham and his sale should therefore be an absolute priority.

“He is earning more than £100,000-per-week and he is five months away from being able to agree a pre-contract with another club to leave for free. Therefore, Tottenham need to do whatever it takes to move him on.”

Tottenham at risk of losing Giovani Lo Celso for free?

Lo Celso has entered the final year of his contract in North London.

As a result, time is ticking for Spurs to find a new club for the playmaker and recoup some of the money they paid to sign him initially.

Lo Celso’s time in the Premier League has been nothing short of a failure, and as a result, offering him a new contract shouldn’t even be an option.

Therefore, if Levy wants to avoid losing a big-money signing for nothing, the Spurs chairman should be working day and night to find a permanent solution for Lo Celso.
