Lilywhite Rose reacts as Tottenham linked with deal to sign PL player on 'Massive Money'

John Wenham believes there is “no chance” of Tottenham signing Chelsea forward Jadon Sancho.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose thinks the 24-year-old’s wage demands will prevent a transfer from happening.

As reported by Fichajes [21 November], Tottenham have emerged as a “serious contender” to sign Sancho.

However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t believe this report to be true.

“Yeah, no chance of that happening,” Wenham said.

“He’s on massive money for a start. We’ve seen in the past that Tottenham aren’t willing to pay that sort of money on player wages.

“That pretty much rules that rumour out right off the bat.”

Tottenham to avoid signing Chelsea forward Jadon Sancho?

Daniel Levy is known to run a tight ship in North London when it comes to financial outlay, despite the enormous amounts of revenue the club continue to generate.

Therefore, it would be a surprise to see Spurs willing to match the wages which Sancho is earning at Chelsea.

And if they aren’t willing to do that, it is difficult to see the winger making the move across London. However, Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to lose much sleep over this.

Sancho has struggled to perform consistently since arriving in the Premier League, and there is no guarantee he would even get into Spurs’ first team.

In addition, Spurs already have some exciting talent emerging at Hotspur Way. Therefore, the large amount of money which would need to be put toward Sancho could be better used elsewhere.
