Man United ace Marcus Rashford has taken to social media to support his teammates after being omitted from the squad for their 2-1 Premier League win over Man City on Sunday (December 15).
The 27-year-old didn’t even make the bench for the Manchester derby after failing to impress in United’s fortunate 2-1 Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen in midweek.
When asked about the decision, Amorim told Sky Sports: “I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game. Everything.
“I make my evaluation and then I decide. There is a communication after the last training. They are alright. They had training this morning and I was there. They trained really well.”
Rashford’s exclusion comes after the Daily Mail reported United would be willing to sell the winger for £40million in the summer transfer window.
Man City defender Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a fine looping header from Kevin de Bruyne’s deflected cross.
Pep Guardiola’s side looked set to secure a much-needed win but Amad Diallo had other ideas, first winning a penalty, which Bruno Fernandes dispatched, and then scoring the winner just two minutes later.

Rashford got the new Amorim era off to a lightning-quick start, scoring in the second minute of the highly-regarded coach’s first game at the helm in their 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
The forward has struggled under all three of United’s managers this season, starting 19 of his 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing three assists in 1501 minutes of action.
Impressed by Man United’s win in the Manchester derby, Rashford took to Instagram to congratulate his teammates, saying: “Yesssssssss! Love it lads.”
Despite the win over their bitter rivals, United remain in 13th with 22 points from their opening 16 Premier League games.
Pep Guardiola’s side have fallen out of the Champions League spots having won just one of their last league seven games.
