Dan Plumley has insisted that Ibrox work delays are a “massive blunder” by Rangers heading into the new Scottish Premiership season.
The Bears are unable to play their August home games at Ibrox due to construction delays to work on the Copland Road Stand [Daily Record].
The finance expert admitted that although clubs cannot legislate for these developments, it is a real shame that it has happened to Rangers.
“It is a massive blunder, in those terms,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“When you look at a club like Rangers not being able to start the season in their own ground when you look at the planning and timing of these things.
“We know that the market is tricky at the minute, we have seen stadium construction delays at the likes of Everton, and we’ve seen other issues at clubs trying to add new areas to their stadium and do some things, and it is due to the world, the economy, there are bigger things at play.
“Often, you can’t legislate for these things, even with the best budgeting and timescale in mind, but it is a real shame that the club might be starting the season out of their own home if nothing else for that little advantage it gives you on the pitch.
Massive Ibrox development at Rangers
With Hampden Park the likely choice to play these games at, hopefully, it won’t make too much of a difference in crucial domestic and Champions League games [Daily Mail].
John Bennett has remained quiet once again despite the massive issues, but he is clearly unhappy with fans left to fend for themselves, it seems.
This is nowhere good enough from everyone involved.
