Farhad Moshiri’s reign as the owner of Everton is over.
Indeed, The Friedkin Group have taken over at Goodison Park, ending what was a truly tumultuous period in the club’s history.
Moshiri made plenty of mistakes during his time as Everton’s owner, leading to financial issues and points deductions, and speaking to Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher has highlighted another mistake Moshiri made.
Indeed, Carragher was reviewing Fulham’s season so far, and he says that Everton were silly to sack Marco Silva, claiming that the Toffees should’ve stuck with the Portuguese coach.

Everton shouldn’t have sacked Marco Silva
Carragher discussed Silva and the job he’s doing at Fulham.
The pundit says he’s a real admirer of Silva, and he thinks that Everton should’ve stuck with him.
“I’m a massive fan of Marco Silva. I always felt when there was the chopping and changing at Everton that was the one Moshiri should’ve stuck with. He’s a proper coach, his teams have a nice balance between playing football but not overplaying and putting themselves in trouble,” Carragher said.
How Everton replaced Marco Silva
Hindsight is always 20/20, and after doing such a brilliant job with Fulham, it’s easy to see why Carragher says Everton should’ve stuck with Silva.
However, at the time, fans weren’t happy with Silva, and Silva did make some mistakes at Everton.
Of course, now, Silva is doing very well, and you’d argue he’d be an upgrade on Sean Dyche.
However, let’s not forget, Everton did upgrade when they sacked Silva.
Everton replaced Silva with Carlo Ancelotti, one of the greatest managers of all-time, and, lo and behold, their results improved.

Anthony Gordon was shocked that Ancelotti came to Everton, and sadly, all good things have to come to an end.
Ancelotti left Everton to manage Real Madrid, and he’s since won the Champions League twice more with Los Blancos.
Is Silva a good manager? Of course he is, but Everton’s decision to get rid of him and go for Ancelotti was certainly justified.
