Mega-rich entrepreneur wants part of Everton project under Textor

Alexander Bafer has revealed he wants to be part of the John Textor takeover bid at Everton.

Bloomberg reported on Friday (13 September) that Aliya Capital Partners is now backing Textor in his pursuit of buying out Farhad Moshiri.

The same outlet added that mega-rich entrepreneur Bafer, who is worth $67.7million (£51.2m) [Benzinga], is also all-in on the project.

“If it goes forward, I’m on board with John,” Bafer is quoted as saying.

John Textor now in prime position to complete Everton takeover

Textor was a bit too forthcoming in speaking publicly about the Everton takeover this week, with the club forced to shoot him down.

However, there is no doubt that the American looks the best choice – some would say the only choice – to take the Toffees into a new dawn.

As a businessman with experience of day-to-day life of what it takes to run a football club, Textor certainly does not lack experience.

With Twitter backer Aliya Capital Partners also on board, as well as Bafer should he wish, this seems like a winning combination.

Everton fans have been here before, though, and until anything is finalised – if it ever is – they will remain wary about the future of the club.

Not a massive amount is known about Bafer other than he is very successful in what he has achieved in his business career to date.

A few months from now, it may well be that Everton supporters know a whole lot more about him.
