Mohamed Salah has dropped a new hint about his long-term future at Liverpool in a new social media post following his weekend goalscoring heroics.

Salah’s sensational strike in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Brighton secured a memorable comeback win at a raucous Anfield and ensured his team top the Premier League table after 10 matches.

However, speculation about the 32-year-old’s future has been rife as he has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield with no extension in sight as things stand.

Salah’s current deal is worth more than £350,000 a week but he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in January and could leave on a free transfer next May.

Now, taking to social media in the aftermath of the Brighton victory, the winger shared: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less.

“All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night.

“No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

The last line in particular has left many with the belief that he will be leaving Liverpool in the near future and is targeting a big sendoff by winning the Premier League.

Others will see it as a deliberate tactic by Salah’s camp to pile the pressure on the club to offer the player a contract that will tie him down beyond the summer of 2025.

Football Insider revealed in September that Liverpool are doing “everything they can” to keep the Egyptian at the club and were set to offer a new contract.

This came following Salah’s comments after his man-of-the-match display against Manchester United in early September in which he revealed he had not had any conversations about the possibility of a new deal.

However, there has been no movement on his contract situation and by breaking his silence on the matter two months later, albeit ambiguously, the pressure intensifies on the club to secure an agreement with their star man.

Salah has proven he remains a crucial part of Arne Slot’s side by scoring seven goals and providing five assists in ten Premier League appearances so far this season.

He has also provided two assists and scored once in three Champions League appearances, showing he can still cut it at the highest level despite his age.

Despite this, the opportunity to become the face of the Saudi Pro League is said to be tempting for the winger who will continue to delay a decision about his future in England.
