Mohamed Salah dropped a cryptic transfer hint after Liverpool’s victory over Premier League title rivals Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

Salah was on the top of his game as the Reds conjured up a 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s side, with the Egyptian registering both a goal and assist.

Despite his impressive performance – question marks remain over Salah’s future in a Liverpool shirt – amid widespread reports he could depart in the summer with his current contract due to expire at the end of June.

Salah spoke to Sky Sports after his masterclass against City and hinted that he may have played against Guardiola’s team for the last time ever.

‘Honestly, it’s in my head,’ Salah said. ‘Until now, this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it.

‘The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.’

Salah has established himself as one of Liverpool’s best players of all time and a true Premier League great since joining the club back in 2017.

Former Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge, who now works as a football pundit, has urged the Reds to resolve their contract dispute with Salah and give him a new deal.

‘Show me the money!’ Sturridge added. ‘It’s as simple as it gets, these types of players, where do you replace the numbers?

‘He is a rare find in football. Is he slowing down? Maybe the manager is asking him to press less.

‘A player of Salah’s quality, deserved to be paid, whether it is a two or three year contract, you have got to pay it.’

Salah’s 33rd birthday is coming up in June but has shown no signs of slowing down this season in terms of his attacking output, with 11 goals and seven assists across 13 Premier League games so far in 2024-25.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah has helped the Reds win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup and Super Cup.
