Mikel Arteta attempted to shuffle his pack in the second half and surprisingly substituted his captain Martin Odegaard, as well as record signing Declan Rice. Substitutes Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard failed to make a telling impact, while Kai Havertz, who ended the game in midfield, now has just one goal in his last eight Premier League games. ‘This is utter crap by Arsenal,’ Morgan wrote on X. ‘Our lack of a proper striker gets more painful with every game. Gabriel Jesus has scored just one goal in the league this calendar year Arsenal couldn’t find a way past Jordan Pickford and Everton’s robust defence ‘Havertz and Jesus will not win us the League. For God’s sake, buy a bloody striker who can.’ ‘It’s disappointing not to win the game,’ said Mikel Arteta after another frustrating result. ‘You don’t concede any shots. Not losing any set-pieces.
