New CEO update emerges as Rangers now down to 'Final' shortlist - report

Rangers are now a step closer to appointing their new CEO with a final shortlist ready, according to Scott Burns.

The Daily Record journalist reported that it is one of the more important roles they want to fill.

Creag Robertson stepping down as the director of football operations is not something that would bother the club a great deal.

Burns told the Daily Record on 12 October: “I don’t think Rangers will be too worried about Creag Robertson stepping down. They have more important positions to fill, although I believe they are down to their final shortlist for a new chief executive.”

Rangers need to conduct in-depth interviews with different candidates

With the club now having their final shortlist for a new CEO, they would now undergo a meticulous vetting process to ensure the right candidate is selected for such a pivotal role.

This process will likely include in-depth interviews which would assess not only the professional qualifications but also the vision and alignment with the club’s long-term objectives.

Background checks and references will be crucial to confirm the candidates’ track records in managing high-pressure environments like football clubs, where business acumen and footballing insight are equally vital.

Given the urgency highlighted by the interim management, negotiations should follow swiftly with the preferred candidate, discussing terms, responsibilities and potentially a notice period if they are currently employed elsewhere.

It is important to have some sort of semblance before the January transfer window or the club can forget challenging for the league this season as well.

Things are already chaotic behind the scenes and they cannot allow them to be worse than what they already are.
