Neymar decides next club as Al-Hilal contract nears end

Neymar will not renew his contract at Al-Hilal.

The Brazilian forward joined the Saudi Pro League side last year after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

The contract the 32-year-old signed was only two years and is due to expire at the end of the season.

And making the decision not to add a further year, Neymar, according to Fichajes, is preparing to leave the Middle East in search of a new challenge.

Neymar to leave Al-Hilal next summer

Neymar’s time at Al-Hilal has been a disaster. The winger has managed to make just five appearances since joining for a reported £86.3 million.

And to make matters worse for Al-Hilal, their promise of £130 million over two years has seen Neymar pocket an obscene amount for virtually nothing in return.

Expected to leave the club next summer, although the South American has been tipped to return to Barcelona, a move back to the Nou Camp has since been ruled out.

No European return for Brazilian

Instead, Neymar prefers to move back to his native Brazil and re-sign for Santos; the club he left Barcelona for 2013.

The forward’s potentially emotional return to Santos would signal the closing stages of his career. Likely to see out his playing days in Brazil, the 32-year-old’s chances of playing in Europe again seem remote.

Nevertheless though, with his two-years in Saudi Arabia securing his financial future, Neymar won’t have to worry about what contract Santos can offer, and instead can focus purely on his career coming full circle.

During his days playing in Europe, Neymar lifted 23 major trophies, including five Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain and the 2014-15 Champions League with Barcelona.
