O'Rourke shares update in Rangers pursuit of Motherwell sensation

Rangers will struggle to sign Motherwell sensation Lennon Miller due to their financial situation, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Rangers ‘won’t be able to compete’ with other interested clubs such as Old Firm rivals Celtic for the 18-year-old’s signature.

Miller has been outstanding for Motherwell so far this season, bagging four goals and providing three assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Rangers, meanwhile, have struggled and currently sit nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic in the Scottish Premier League title race.

It’s not looking much better off the pitch either, the club’s latest annual report revealed a worrying £17.2million operating loss despite also reporting record core revenue of £88.3million.

Lennon Miller move unlikely for Rangers

Rangers invested over £14million in ten new first-team players during the summer transfer window, marking a significant squad overhaul.

Philippe Clement has failed to get them to gel, however, and could be set to lose his job should their dismal start to the season continue.

Football Insider revealed (November 1) that the Belgian boss is ‘one game away’ from the sack as they prepare to face Miller and Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday (November 3).

The uncertainty surrounding the club and the potential pressure to help turn Rangers’ season around are expected to heavily influence Miller’s decision.

Motherwell are close behind Clement’s side in the league, sitting just three points adrift with 16 points, following five wins, one draw, and four losses in their first ten games.
