Prize money England will receive after reaching Euro 2024 quarter-final

Gareth Southgate’s side made hard work of it, but England are through to the quarter-final of Euro 2024 after defeating Slovakia.

A 95th minute overhead kick from Jude Bellingham cancelled out Ivan Schranz’s 25th minute opener, before a header from Harry Kane seconds into extra-time secured the victory.

So, how much prize money have England secured after the 2-1 win over Slovakia? Let’s take a look…

England prize money after Euro 2024 win against Slovakia

Goals from Bellingham and Kane have netted England a sum of €2.5m (£2.1m) to add to the pot of Euro 2024 prize money.

UEFA’s official website shows that qualification for the quarter-final is worth £2.1m to those who made it to the final eight, while a single win at the competition is worth €1m (£847,584).

Therefore, England have actually secured a total of £2.9m in prize money just from the win over Slovakia.

How much England players get paid

One trending question during England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia was in regards to whether players get paid for international duty.

The Three Lions do get rewarded financially for England duty, with Wales Online claiming that players are given £2,000 per game – however, it is believed that this money has been donated to the England Football Foundation ever since 2007.

In truth, that is how it should have been for much longer, with these players getting paid more than enough by their clubs.

Phil Foden, for example, earns £225,000-a-week at Manchester City, so his £2,000 appearance fee for England is a drop in the ocean.
