Propper missing as midfielder axed - Rangers confirmed XI v Ross County

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has made four changes to his Light Blues’ starting XI for the clash with Ross County on Saturday 24 August.

The Light Blues has rotated his squad after the clash with St Johnston last time out, with Cyriel Dessers returning to the starting XI to replace Danilo who drops back onto the bench.

Leon Balogun has returned to the starting XI, having recovered from his injury, to replace the sidelined Robin Propper and partner John Souttar in the centre of defence.

The surprise decision sees Connor Barron and Tom Lawrence start in midfield alongside Dujon Sterling, with Mohammed Diomande and Kieran Dowell dropping to the bench.

Are Rangers close to any new signings ahead of the transfer deadline?

With the Old Firm clash up next for the Gers, Clement’s side simply has to pick up all three points today to keep themselves within touching distance of their Old Firm rivals as we head into the first Glasgow derby of the campaign.

As the season has progressed, the Light Blues have looked better and better, but there is still plenty of work to be done to convince the supporters that this squad is capable of lifting the Scottish Premiership title this term.

With the likes of Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi still out in the cold, Clement doesn’t have loads of options to pick from with only a matter of days left in the summer transfer window.

Rangers simply have to make a few more additions before the end of August if they want to give themselves a chance of winning the league.

For this afternoon at least, the Light Blues’ focus will just be on the 90 minutes at Hampden Park. If they play to the best of their ability, the three points will be staying in Glasgow.

They just have to match that level.
