Michael Ball believes The Friedkin Group will replace Sean Dyche as Everton manager “early” on into their spell as new owners.
The former Burnley boss has been under major scrutiny this term with the club currently sitting 15th in the Premier League.
Writing for the Liverpool ECHO (26 November), Ball shared his thoughts on where the future of the 53-year-old lies.
“I wonder if the players think that this is the end of Dyche? I wonder if Dyche knows that the new owners the Friedkin Group are going to replace him early on when they come in,” he wrote.
“My argument to the players would be, if your contract is running out, you’re on big, big money at Everton Football Club. After Everton, you’re going to be going down, so how far do you want to go down?
“Wages-wise, club-wise. You’re not going to get a pay rise.
“If your level of performances and standards are this then your wages will drop significantly. If you want a last payday somewhere else, you’ve got to start performing and pushing to be player of the year at Everton Football Club to get a half-decent contract.”
The time for Sean Dyche at Everton is ticking
As aforementioned, Dyche has found himself under plenty of scrutiny this term due to the poor performances his team have put in recently.
Of course, there have been some standout players with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye showing why they were brought in over the summer.
The Merseyside outfit may not be in the Premier League drop zone yet, but as they’re just two points clear of the bottom three, fans are obviously concerned.
Many have wanted the 53-year-old out since the start of the season but as soon as it looks likely he’s about to be relieved of his duties, he’s managed to pull a good performance out of the bag.
There’s no telling what the future holds for Dyche but with his contract expiring at the end of the term, it’s hard to see why Dan Friedkin would keep him in his role when he eventually takes over.
In other Everton news, Kevin Thelwell’s transfer plans have had to change after recent exit news.
