Rangers: David Edgar shares Tavernier transfer fee as Trabzonspor update emerges

Rangers will demand between £3million and £4million as James Tavernier closes in on a move to Trabzonspor, according to David Edgar.

The Heart and Hand host expects the deal to be completed sooner rather than later with the two clubs negotiating over the price.

The 32-year-old has been a key player for the Ibrox, both as a captain and a prolific goal-scorer from right-back.

His leadership on and off the pitch has been instrumental in the team’s success and his ability to consistently deliver goals and assists from a defensive position is a rare and valuable asset.

In addition to his attacking prowess, the Englishman’s defensive contributions and work rate are also commendable, although that has become a weakness of late.

His experience and understanding of the game make him an invaluable asset in organising the defence and maintaining team structure.

It remains to be seen how the club manage to find a suitable replacement for their long-term hero.
