Rangers fans are fuming after Cyriel Dessers revealed he would snub transfer interest in favour of remaining at Ibrox this summer.

Speaking to Dutch media, he explained: “I am very happy here, so I would like to stay. There is some interest, but my intention is to stay.”

This clarity around his situation will allow both him and the club to move on from any speculation, but fans think that will have a negative effect.

Rangers find themselves in a difficult financial position and will have to sell players before they can buy, with Dessers previously earmarked as a possible sale.

His comments have now put an end to that possibility, leaving fans fuming at the increasingly dire situation in the transfer market.

Fans were left fuming at the striker after his inconsistent performances despite scoring 22 goals last season and have called for him to be sold.

In the aftermath of his interview which was widely shared on social media, fans hit out at the striker, labelling him “pub league standard” and describing the situation as “an utter mess”.

One supporter went as far as to threaten that fans would walk away from the club if the likes of Dessers were not sold this summer.
