Rangers fans were left impressed by Leon Balogun’s age-defying performance against St Mirren on Sunday (27 October).
The Gers remained in third place in the Scottish Premiership after a 2-1 victory courtesy of goals from Mohamed Diomande and Vaclav Cerny as the squad maintains pressure on Aberdeen and Celtic.
However, it was the individual performance of 36-year-old Balogun that fans were particularly taken aback by.
The central defender was starting only his second game of the season in the league but quickly showcased his experience throughout the match.
Balogun made 77 passes throughout the match and managed an 88% accurate pass rate, while he had 95 attacking touches.
Defensively is where he shone brightest though, making three-headed clearances, six interceptions, and 13 defensive actions to help his team secure three points.
Rangers fans have been wowed by Leon Balogun’s consistency
Balogun might be one of the oldest players in the Scottish Premiership, but Rangers fans believe that he’s still one of the best defenders in Philippe Clement’s team.
In other news, Rangers will be forced to sell star players after confirmed news – Keith Wyness.
