Rangers loanee shares if he'll be at Ibrox next year as he makes SPFL admission

Neraysho Kasanwirjo is leaving his options open as he awaits to find out if Rangers will make his loan move permanent.

The Light Blues snapped the 22-year-old up from Feyenoord on a temporary deal on transfer deadline day in August and hold an option to buy him.

Having had a taste of Scottish football in his second stint away from the Netherlands, Kasanwirjo confirmed that talk about the game in the country being physically tougher.

“The stories that it [football in Scotland] is tough and a physical challenge are true”, he told Voetbal International, as quoted by 1908.nl (17 October).

“In Scotland, you just have to become a man. You are a small boy, but you have to become a man.

“That is what I am working on now and it will be fine.”

Addressing his long-term future at Ibrox, the right-back said: “I am just doing my best, keep working hard and want to play as much as possible.

“Then we will see where it leads. Continue at Feyenoord? Who knows. I am keeping all options open.”

Neraysho Kasanwirjo deserves more chances at Rangers

It is a surprise that Kasanwirjo has made just one start – that too at left-back – for Rangers so far, especially considering James Tavernier’s poor form.

Tavernier has arguably been the worst player at Ibrox this term and it is high time Philippe Clement gave the Netherlands Under-21s international a chance ahead of the 32-year-old.

The Englishman has somehow survived the axe, starting in each of the Gers’ 13 games in all competitions this season, while Kasanwirjo produced a tidy performance in his only start.

He played the full 90 minutes at left-back as Clement’s side beat Malmo 2-0 in the UEFA Europa League and completed 34 of his 38 passes with 89 per cent accuracy (FotMob). That included two passes into the final third and one chance-creating ball.

Although he missed one big chance, he displayed his attacking prowess that day, playing eight cross with 80 per cent accuracy.

The Dutchman was also involved in defence, making a tackle and a ball recovery each, while also winning one of his two ground duels.

There is a chance that Rangers choose not to buy Kasanwirjo, but doing so without giving him a proper run of games in the team would be a shame.
