Rangers transfer update emerges on £3.5m-rated player who has gone on strike - report

Adama Traore is unlikely to join Rangers imminently with Philippe Clement issuing an admission over the club’s finances, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported via its website on 18 July that the £3.5m-rated Ferencvaros winger is unlikely to be close to an Ibrox move with the Scottish club needing to sell before they can buy new players.

The 29-year-old has also gone on strike recently, joining his Mali teammates in a boycott of the national team.

Rangers must prioritise Abdallah Sima over Adama Traore

Gers should prioritise Abdallah Sima over Traore as his familiarity with the club, having spent a successful loan spell at Ibrox, makes him a more straightforward and potentially impactful signing.

His previous performances indicate he can seamlessly integrate into the team, whereas Traore would require an adjustment period.

The Brighton winger’s recent form and scoring record are superior to Traore’s.

Sima netted 16 goals in 40 appearances last season, showing his reliability in front of goal, which is crucial for a club like Gers aiming to compete at the highest level.

Financially, Traore’s £3.5million valuation is a significant investment for Gers, especially considering they need to sell players first and while Sima will cost more, it’s money Philippe Clement would urge the board to spend.

Lastly, Traore’s recent strike with the Mali national team raises concerns about his commitment and potential disruptions and that might end up working against him.

In other Rangers news, an Ibrox-linked player has been punished by his club as Gers have made inroads towards securing his transfer.
