Report: After Auston Trusty offer, Celtic also make bid to sign £12m winger compared to Arjen Robben
❗️
Celtic are trying to sign a new winger before Friday’s transfer deadline to beef up the squad for Brendan Rodgers.
The Bhoys have already signed Kasper Schmeichel, Viljami Sinisalo, Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah as they aim to win yet another Scottish Premiership title, with another player now on Celtic’s radar.
So, who have Celtic now bid for ahead of Friday’s deadline? Let’s take a look…
Celtic bid for Gustav Isaksen
A story from Il Messaggero now states that Celtic have made a bid to sign Gustav Isaksen from Lazio.
The Italian news outlet believe Celtic have offered a sum of €2m (£1.7m) to initially take the Denmark international on loan, which includes an option to make the deal permanent next summer for €14m (£12m).
However, Lazio would prefer Celtic to agree to an obligation to turn the move permanent for £12m in 2025 rather than an option, but that is not the only problem.
Isaksen himself is unwilling to join Celtic at this stage of the window, with Il Messaggero claiming that the Dane has told Lazio he does not want to move to Glasgow.
Therefore, it would now be a huge surprise if Celtic manage to sign the Lazio No.18 – who Nordic Football Data have compared to Arjen Robben.
Isaksen already has one goal in two Serie A appearances so far this season – after netting three in 28 Serie A games last term.
Bhoys have made another bid
Isaksen is not the only player Celtic are trying to sign before Friday’s deadline.
Sky Sports are now claiming that Celtic have made a £5m bid to sign Auston Trusty from Sheffield United, as Rodgers aims to improve his centre-back department.
Yuki Kobayashi and Gustaf Lagerbielke have departed Glasgow for Portimonense and FC Twente respectively, so a new central defender is wanted at Celtic Park.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Celtic – the Hoops have also agreed personal terms with Arne Engels as an exit from Augsburg nears…
