Report: Arsenal and Man United informed they need to pay £220k p/w for sign 'world class' free agent
Huge money! ????
The summer transfer window may now be shut but Arsenal and Manchester United still have an opportunity to add to their squad with a free agent pick up.
It has been a mixed start to the season for Arsenal who have been able to take seven points from a possible nine.
However, there are now some issues for Mikel Arteta to deal with given Declan Rice is absent for the North London Derby through suspension.
And there is also the believed injury to Martin Odegaard which could see the Arsenal midfielder miss a significant amount of time.
As for Man United, the Red Devils are returning from the international break on the back of two straight defeats.
With the window shut, both sides may now be looking to address their respective issues with potential free agent additions.
Arsenal and Man United told free agent wants £220k-per-week
With the season now well underway, there could well be some final tweaks made to the squads by seeking some opportunities in the free agents market.
Perhaps the biggest name currently available is the France international Adrien Rabiot who left Juventus over the summer.
Both Arsenal and Man United have shown an interest in Rabiot this summer with the midfielder still in search of a new club.
According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal and United have now been informed it would take an offer of £220k-per-week to seal Rabiot’s signature.
But it is now believed the midfielder could well find it slightly more difficult to land a Premier League move at this stage.
It is not just the Frenchman’s wages which could prove a real issue for any interested sides but also his lack of football over recent months.
It is now September and the ‘world class‘ Rabiot has gone the full summer without a pre-season and is still yet to join up with a side to begin first team training.
Arsenal could still see Jorginho leave for Turkey
Although the transfer window may be shut across the major European leagues, the likes of Turkey still have time to complete any final pieces of business.
Arsenal’s Jorginho is believed to be weighing up his future with options in Turkey to potentially head off to before the window shuts.
If the Italian was to depart north London before the end of play on Friday, perhaps that would launch Arsenal into the free agents market.
However, with Odegaard potentially out through injury for a period of time, allowing Jorginho to leave could be a risky move from Arsenal.
