Arsenal and Tottenham could get their hands on one of the bargain buys of the summer after his price dropped dramatically.
New signings are on the agenda for both Spurs and Arsenal before the window closes and at the moment, they’re both being linked with similar players.
Midfielder Ebere Eze is being linked with both clubs, while they also have separate targets as well.
For Arsenal, a deal for Mikel Merino is thought to be close and reports over the weekend have suggested the Spaniard only wants to sign for the Gunners.
However, there is another name in a more attacking position that interests Arsenal as well.
That man is Federico Chiesa, who is being linked with the Gunners as well as Tottenham and Aston Villa.
And according to reports, Chiesa could now be available at a knockdown price.
Arsenal could sign Federico Chiesa for just £13m
According to a report from TuttoJuve, Chiesa is now being effectively pushed out of Juventus and the Turin club could accept a small fee.
That small fee could be as low as £13m and given Chiesa was being touted around the £25m mark just days ago, it’s a marked drop.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta made it clear this weekend that the likes of Chiesa and others who missed the latest pre-season game need to find new clubs.
For Arsenal, this is effectively an open invitation to sign a player who has pedigree.
Chiesa – who has been lauded as a ‘superstar‘ in his homeland – has won plenty in his career already including the Euros wit Italy in 2021 and Mikel Arteta might well see that winning mentality as a big plus point.
Of course, Arsenal have also been searching for a new forward for some time now but know the very best ones cost big money.
Chiesa, then, – whose agents have already spoken to Arsenal – could be the bargain they’re looking for.
