Report: Chelsea out of the running to sign 'world-class' player but Arsenal still in hunt, he's in a hurry
A big boost for Arsenal ????
Chelsea have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign one of the best attackers on the planet, with Arsenal still in contention.
The Blues have once again been one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer market, with Chelsea splashing out over £100m on the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Newcastle United-linked Filip Jorgensen and Omari Kellyman.
With Conor Gallagher in talks to join Atletico Madrid, Chelsea might not be done with their summer of spending just yet, with Enzo Maresca looking to build a team that can take the west London giants back to the UEFA Champions League.
Yet is appears that the Stamford Bridge side are out of the race for one Arsenal target.
Chelsea no longer interested in signing Arsenal target Victor Osimhen
According to CalcioMercato, Chelsea have given up on their pursuit to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, though as per the report, Arsenal remain firmly in the hunt for the Nigerian international this summer, who wants to sort his future out as soon as possible.
Hailed by Jose Mourinho as a ‘world-class’ player via All Nigeria Soccer, Osimhen has been strongly linked with Arsenal all summer, with the north London side expected to move for a top attacker in the transfer window.
With Chelsea now out of the competition to land the Napoli forward, Arsenal could find themselves in the clear to sign Osimhen, who could be an incredible fit for the Gunners if Mikel Arteta can soon launch a bid to bring the striker to the Emirates Stadium.
Indeed, the pathway is there for Arsenal to sign Osimhen this summer, and with Chelsea dropping their interest in the Serie A talisman, the north London side can make a statement by bringing the forward to the Premier League.
Arsenal need to go all out to sign Osimhen this month
Osimhen has felt like a perfect fit for Arsenal for quite some time, with the Nigerian striker a player who could be ideal playing with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.
And with a route now laid out for Arsenal to sign Osimhen, the Gunners must go all out to bring the striker to the Emirates, where the forward could thrive in the Premier League under Arteta.
Chelsea have given Arsenal a golden ticket to complete their squad with Osimhen, and the north London side need to move forward with their plan to sign the Nigerian in the coming weeks.
