Report: Leeds now want to sign £3m playmaker who Celtic scouts consider a ‘top talent’

After failing to gain promotion last season, Leeds United have had most of their best players stripped from them this summer transfer window.

Georginio Rutter has just left Elland Road for Brighton and joins Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray as the headlines exits.

Now, the process of finding an adequate replacement is in full swing with deadline day just nine days away.

With that said, it seems Leeds have identified a potential Rutter replacement.

Leeds United interested in Alvyn Sanches

Daniel Farke is keen to bring in a creative midfielder before the window slams shut on August 30th and has now identified FC Lausanne-Sport playmaker Alvyn Sanches, according to The Express.

Sanches, who is a Switzerland under-21 international, can operate as an eight or a 10 and netted six times last season.

The 2003-born is already off the mark this term after scoring a brace against Champel in the Swiss Cup on the weekend.

Sanches is thought to be valued at £3m, though, Lausanne-Sport are under no immediate pressure to sell.

Leeds face competition for Alvyn Sanches from Celtic

Leeds aren’t the only interested party in Sanches as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic are in talks to sign him this summer.

The Scottish giants have already carried out groundwork and have convinced the 21-year-old to make the switch.

Though, Celtic, who consider Sanches a ‘top talent’, are yet to make an official approach which could leave the door open for Leeds to hijack the transfer.

Burnley are also keeping an eye on the situation.
