Report: Leeds told they must submit bid for 'deadly' £20m attacker by July 31 or deal is off
Wow...
Leeds United have until the end of this month to sign a highly-rated attacker otherwise the deal if expected to be called off.
Leeds have really ramped up their summer business having added Jayden Bogle to their ranks from Sheffield United last week.
Now, they’re trying to hijack a move for Peterborough United left-back Harrison Burrows, who was in advanced talks to join Sheffield United.
Alongside their pursuit of Burrows, club chiefs are looking into the possibility of signing ‘one of the best’ players in the Championship.
Though, they’ve now been set a deadline to submit a bid.
Leeds told they have until July 31 to sign Sammie Szmodics
Leeds United have registered their interest in Blackburn Rovers forward Sammie Szmodics in recent days.
Now, according to transfer specialist Alan Nixon, they’ve been told by Rovers that a bid must be submitted by July 31st otherwise a deal will be called off.
Premier League new boys Ipswich Town are also keen on landing his signature and have seen an offer worth £6m knocked back.
It was deemed too low by Blackburn, who notified The Tractor Boys that they would only listen to proper bids.
There has been a suggestion it could take as much as £20m to take Szmodics away from Ewood Park but there’s little chance any suitor will stump up that amount.
Sammie Szmodics keen on Premier League move
Szmodics, who has been labelled ‘deadly’ by Rovers’ official X account, is understood to favour a move to the Premier League.
However, it will simply come down to who stumps up the most amount of cash, so Leeds certainly still have a say in this race.
The 28-year-old netted 27 Championship goals last term, which saw him crowned the Golden Boot winner.
In other news, 49ers and Reed Bull have big plan for Leeds amid £119m off-pitch offer.
