Report: Liverpool are still interested in signing £51m attacker who's even faster than Dominik Szoboszlai

Euro 2024 is almost over, and while this tournament has been underwhelming at times, there have been some stars to emerge.

Indeed, the likes of Georges Mikautadze and Riccardo Calafiori have made real names for themselves at this tournament, but perhaps the most impressive performer has been Nico Williams.

The Spanish winger has put in string of dazzling displays for Spain so far in the competition, and he’s attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Barcelona have been strongly linked as of late, but according to Marca, a deal to take the attacker to Camp Nou won’t be easy as other teams are said to be keen, including Liverpool.

Liverpool keen on Nico Williams

According to Marca, Liverpool are still amongst the teams interested in Nico Williams this summer.

The Reds are named alongside, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG as teams that are said to be ‘willing to sign’ the speedster.

Clocked as one of the fastest players at Euro 2024, Williams’ top speed is even higher than Dominik Szoboszlai’s, which is no easy feat.

Nico Williams would be incredible for Liverpool

Liverpool have a number of fantastic attacking options, but Williams would still be a brilliant signing.

Let’s face it, Mohamed Salah isn’t getting any younger, and while the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are brilliant, they don’t have that same sort of ability as Salah to put this team on their back for an entire season.

Williams may be young, but he’s already showing that level of potential, and if Liverpool did sign him, he could ultimately be the heir to Salah’s throne, albeit on the opposite flank.

This would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool if they were able to get it done, but, as the opposing interest shows, this move won’t be easy, despite the presence of a £51m release clause.
