Report: Marseille have just agreed to sign 'amazing' striker after Arsenal reject new Eddie Nketiah bid

Arsenal could have shot themselves in the foot by rejected Marseille’s offer for Eddie Nketiah.

The Gunners have been in negotiations to sell Nketiah to the French side recently but so far, nothing has come of the interest from the Ligue 1 side.

Last night, it was reported how Arsenal had rejected a new bid for Nketiah from Marseille worth around £24m.

Arsenal are apparently seeking more than £30m to agree to sell the striker.

However, with things moving quickly in the transfer market, it now looks like Marseille have moved on as well and they’ve agreed a deal to sign a different forward.

Marseille agree to sign Youssoufa Moukoko after bidding for Eddie Nketiah

According to Fabrizio Romano, Marseille have agreed a deal to sign Moukoko.

It’s claimed the forward has rejected offers from five other clubs in Europe to sign for Marseille and that a loan to buy option could be signed off soon.

Can Arsenal still sell Eddie Nketiah to Marseille?

On the surface of things, it looks like this might be game over for Arsenal when it comes to selling Nketiah to Marseille.

They’ve already landed Mason Greenwood and now signing Moukoko as well will call into serious question the bid for Nketiah.

Of course, you never know in football and given the French club have sold Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaila Sarr and are losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there still might be space for Nketiah.

However, the signing of Moukoko very much shows that Marseille are active in other markets as well.

This might simply be a way of sending a message to Arsenal as well in that if they keep rejecting offers, then Marseille will simply move on.

Nketiah will be hoping that this isn’t the end of his bid to move to France.

But it remains to be seen if Marseille will pay up.
