Although Tottenham Hotspur had quite a fruitful summer on the transfer front, no club will be resting on their laurels when it comes to prospective new targets.
Spurs have been linked with a number of players in recent days, including Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo and FC Midtjylland attacker Dario Osorio.
Now, a report has emerged claiming Tottenham have set their sights on a “prolific and creative” forward who is also the all-time top scorer at his club’s stadium.
Tottenham plotting potential move for Espanyol’s Javi Puado
The player in question is Espanyol’s Javi Puado, who has etched his name in folklore at the Catalan club.
According to FootballTransfers, the 26-year-old caught the attention of Spurs scouts while watching Alejo Veliz in action against Real Vallecano in September.
As a result, Tottenham are now keeping a close eye on Puado as they look to strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Spaniard’s contract expires next summer, so Spurs could well fancy their chances of snapping him up for a fee below standard market value.

Who is Tottenham target Javi Puado?
Puado was born in Barcelona on 25 May 1998 and began his football journey at Cornella Youth before linking up with Espanyol’s academy in 2014.
Ten years on, Puado has become an Espanyol legend, with 184 appearances, 48 goals and 15 assists to his name.
Puado also helped Espanyol bounce back into La Liga at the first time of asking last summer.
He scored 16 league goals last term, including a brace in the promotion final second leg against Real Oviedo, which gave his side a 2-1 win on aggregate.
In 2021, Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig described Puado as a “fast, versatile, technical, prolific and creative player” who’s “great with both feet” and “can play almost anywhere in attack”.
In September this year, Puado became the all-time top scorer at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium.
