Revealed: Bayer Leverkusen star could now open the door to Man United transfer

Man United will get a boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt if Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah joins Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Bayern need to sign a replacement for De Ligt, 24, before they are willing to allow him to leave.

The German giants hold a long-term interest in Tah, 28, and are ready to swoop after he entered the final 12 months of his contract at Leverkusen.

Sources say Bayern are working on a deal for the Germany international, which could then set off a “domino effect” which could bring De Ligt to Old Trafford.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (22 July) that Man United are determined to seal a deal for the centre-back despite already signing teenager Leny Yoro.

It is believed there is a willingness from all parties to get the deal for De Ligt done.

He is keen to reunite with Erik ten Hag at Man United after their successful time together at Ajax.

The centre-back made 30 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, with a knee ligament tear restricting his action for Bayern Munich as they missed out on the Bundesliga title.

De Ligt is under contract until June 2027 but will be allowed to leave this summer.

Bayern Munich are ready to swoop for Tah after he played a key role in helping Leverkusen seal a historic Bundesliga title last season.
