Revealed: Man City open talks to sell another young star, £15m will seal deal

Man City have given the green light for Callum Doyle to exit the club this summer as Norwich City close in on a deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The England Under-21 international had a successful loan spell last season at Leicester City, helping the Foxes win the Championship.

However, the Premier League champions are willing to let him move on this summer with sources saying Norwich are in talks to sign him. There is also interest from other Championship clubs.

Traditionally a centre-back, the 20-year-old is versatile enough to play at left-back.

Doyle signed for Man City’s first team in 2021 after thriving in the academy and is under contract at Etihad Stadium until 2027.

He is valued by his parent club at around the £15million mark and interest in him comes after City sold Rory Delap to Ipswich Town in a £20m deal including add-ons.

The defender has yet to make an appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side, and has spent the past three seasons on loan at various clubs.

Man City are willing to let Callum Doyle progress elsewhere

Despite being a young player, Doyle has earned plenty of first-team football in all of his loan spells.

After making 44 appearances for Sunderland, the defender went on to help Coventry City reach the play-off final in 2022-23 during his season at the Sky Blues.

Last season he played 23 times as Leicester won the Championship to regain promotion to the Premier League.

The Canaries did finish in a play-off position last season, but the club conceded more goals than any club inside the top six.

Focusing on strengthening the back line could make the difference as Norwich aims to be in the promotion push once again.
