Richarlison exit: ‘Shock’ approach made for Tottenham sale

Tottenham have rejected “several approaches” for Richarlison ahead of the January transfer window with Brazillian clubs keen on a deal, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Richarlison has had limited minutes for Spurs this season although the club reportedly have no intention of letting him leave (TNT Sports Brazil) with it reported in the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (22 December, pg 68) that Tottenham have rejected “several approaches from Brazillian clubs.”

The report adds that the clubs interested are unlikely to offer the amount of money Spurs would require in order to sanction a sale for Richarlison who suffered another injury setback while also not interested in a mid-season sale.

Richarlison’s future at the club could come under consideration at the end of the current campaign.

While the clubs reported to be interested in his services will struggle to stump up the financial necessities for a deal, the prospect of his exit may not be a bad thing.

The Brazilian forward has struggled to capture any real form at Spurs since arriving from Everton and his impact this season has been minimal.

Bryan King claimed that a swap deal for Ivan Toney would make sense as Spurs look to improve their attacking lineup which has struggled in several quarters so far this season.

With Richarlison out of contract two years after the conclusion of this season, his future will come under question and it may make sense for an exit for all parties given his injury record and impact at the club.

Spurs have had a tough season so far and a lack of quality has shone through on too many occasions and it will be something that needs to be addressed in future transfer windows and by doing that, Richarlison may be one of several players to be offloaded.
