Everton have confirmed a deal that would see current Leeds United sponsor Red Bull be named the club’s new ‘Official Energy Drink Partner’.

The energy drink conglomerate was made Leeds’ front-of-shirt sponsor at the beginning of the season in a deal that would seem them take a minority ownership stake in the West Yorkshire club.

Branding will be strewn across bottle carriers, bottle coolers, and ice boxes at Everton’s Finch Farm training complex, as well as at home and away fixtures.

No figures have been disclosed but as part of the multi-year agreement, which will not only cover the club’s historic final season at Goodison Park but the move to their new 52,888 capacity stadium, Red Bull will benefit from the opportunity to promote their brand globally across the club’s physical and online channels.

Football Insider understands it is a record-breaking deal of its kind in terms of finances for the Blues.

The company has had its hand in football since 2005 when it purchased Austrian club FC Salzburg and rebranded it 2005 to Red Bull Salzburg.

American businessman John Textor is in the process of trying to purchase the club from incumbent owner Farhad Moshiri.

Football Insider revealed (September 5) that Textor will face further delays in his Everton takeover bid if a potential buyer of his Crystal Palace shares is required to pass the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test.

Premier League rules forbid ownership of two clubs in one division, since Textor also owns 45 per cent of Palace, the deal cannot go through.

The Guardian reported on 21 August that the American billionaire flew into Liverpool for further discussions with Moshiri, with a deal anticipated to be finalised by the end of that week.

Manager Sean Dyche is also under pressure as the club sit dead last in the Premier League table as they search for their first win of the new season.

Football Insider also revealed (September 4) that David Moyes is receiving a growing groundswell of support within the Everton boardroom to make a sensational return to the club.
