'Sweep away the rubbish' - King blasts Farhad Moshiri amid Everton takeover news

Bryan King insists it will be good to see Farhad Moshiri and the current Everton board replaced by the Friedkin Group.

The ex-Goodison scout believes Moshiri has taken the Toffees to a new low. Therefore, King feels that Dan Friedkin’s imminent arrival at Goodison Park will be a “wonderful boost”.

Everton confirmed via the club’s official website on Monday (23 September) that Moshiri had reached a takeover agreement with the Friedkin Group.

The Friedkin Group’s takeover could be ratified by the Premier League within the next six to eight weeks (via the Guardian, 23 September).

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – is hopeful of the takeover process going smoothly.

“If it all goes through, and I sincerely hope it does, it will be a wonderful boost for everybody associated with Everton Football Club,” King said.

“It will be good to see a brand-new group come in and sweep away the rubbish. Since being on the board Moshiri seems to have taken Everton to a new low.

“I think he has done well to get his money back. It wasn’t in the best state when he took over and it isn’t in the best state now.

“This is a big boost for the fans, the club and the city of Liverpool. We talk about Liverpool all the time, but Everton are also a big football club.”

Supporters will be desperate to see Moshiri and the current Everton board replaced.

It has been nothing but trouble since Moshiri arrived. Therefore, after a long and strenuous takeover process, supporters will have been relieved to hear that Friedkin was set to take over.

There is of course not yet any guarantee that the American will necessarily do a better job. However, it would certainly be difficult for him to do any worse.
